Posted by: Bruno at June 12, 2008 9:37 AMI was struck by how brand-name-centric everything was... I suppose it wouldn't hold interest for its readers if it weren't... but I can't help but think that dieting/eathing healthy should be do-able by folks who aren't rolling in the dough or who are on fixed incomes... Surely, there are generic versions of nearly every item on the list... Nearly all items (with the exception of Shredded Wheat and Guinness and a few others) are recently concocted, re-packaged fad items that are 20 to 50 per cent more expensive than their ancient counterparts. Wouldn't a list that reduced calories, cholesterol, etc. AND saved jack be more useful?
BTW: Does anyone know where I can find the "Goose" version of:
"Tuong Ot Sriracha
Add a swirl of this versatile Asian chili sauce to a tablespoon of mayonnaise (#85) for a spicy sandwich spread. "
It's more flavorful thatn the "Rooster" version (Item #90, above), and it's got coconut in it, I think.

Therefore, I spend my limited time and attention on other matters, and eat what I freakin' like.

What's next from our clearly metrosexual host?
Posts on male body-waxing? On pedicures and manicures?
And he has the nerve to call soccer fan sissies.
