ELEVATING THE CONVERSATION:

I'd not noticed that the graphic at the front page of the Village Voice, accompanying Rick Perlstein's story, features George W. Bush rendered as the monkey Curious George, running away from the war. I guess a chimp is better than Hitler or a Neanderthal?

Cartoonists have always had a field day with presidents. They made Carter look like a giant pair of dentures with lips. More power to 'em.

I was a big Curious George fan. Heck, I'd vote for Curious George against any of the Democratic candidates.

al guardian had a particularly vile cartoon last year of W. As a chimp, knuckles dragging on the floor. Then he started standing straight, then flying, as a chimp dressed in a nazi uniform and dropping bombs out of his rear.
